Jennifer Lawrence: Minimal Makeup Looks for Spring 2015

Jennifer Lawrence, the 24-year-old Hunger Games star is known for being blunt about the importance of self-confidence. We love Jennifer for many reasons, including her ability to rock completely natural and minimal-makeup looks all over magazine covers and red carpets.

A lot of assumptions come along with wearing makeup– there are stereotypes that girls who wear heavy makeup are self-conscious or vain. However, we love makeup and the fun that comes along with trying a bold, fuchsia lip or a subtle smokey eye.

On the other hand, a minimalistic makeup look lets others know that you are confident in your own skin through your makeup choice. It allows extra time to sleep in, and a fresh face can feel great from time-to-time, especially on long days when you do not feel like reapplying your pretty pink lipstick multiple times.

You do not need to avoid makeup completely (which we definitely do not object to!), but your makeup routine can be oh-so-simple with just a few quick steps. To get a look like Jennifer's, all you need is five or six products.

The trick to being confident with a natural look is starting with a fresh foundation. If you are prone to blemishes, dab a concealer under your eyes and on any blemishes. Next, add a pea-sized amount of foundation all over, including over eyelids and down the neck-line. Eyebrows can make a huge difference when going for a minimalistic look, so once you  have gotten rid of any stray hairs, try lightly filling them in with a shimmer-free eye shadow color that is just a shade lighter than your eyebrow color.

Finally, finish off the look by curling your lashes and adding one or two coats of black mascara and a tinted lip gloss. Trust us-- that's all you need.

One last thing– it is officially spring, which means that lots of fun-in-the-sun is on the way. We can not stress the importance of wearing sunscreen enough. Preserving that beautiful skin is crucial to being able to rock the minimal-makeup look as you get older and wrinkles start to develop (which we know seems so far away that it will never happen– but trust us on this one). Use an SPF of at least 30, pay special attention to the face, and reapply after you go in the water or sweat. Favorite Looks From The 2014 Annual Lucille Lortel Awards

This past week marked the 29th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards in New York City honoring those who participate in Off-Broadway theater. A number of talented celebrities participated in the event such as the lovely America Ferrera and Carly Rae Jepsen looking absolutely fabulous. The night highlighted many Off-Broadway actors, actresses, design artists, choreographers and producers.

Guest America Ferrera wore a black Givenchy dress while adding a splash of color. This look for the event was fun and the added neon belt made it even better. America has been in numerous hit television series such as Touched by an Angel and Ugly Betty. Another favorite she has been in was the 2005 film Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

One of the presenters for the event included singer Carly Rae Jepsen. Carly is known for her hit single 'Call me Maybe' that went viral. She presented awards for Outstanding Achievement while wearing a gray dress with beautiful silver embroidery. We think she looks fabulous in her choice of attire for the event.

Laura Osnes also attended the event looking gorgeous in an elaborate Dennis Basso dress. Laura is a singer and actress who starred as Sandy in the musical Greece.

Along with many other wonderfully dressed celebrities, these three ladies went above and beyond demonstrating beautiful red carpet style!

Kid's Choice Awards 2014 Hits the Orange Carpet

On March 29th, 2014 the 27th Annual Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards premiered on live television where celebrities walked down the orange carpet in style. At this fun and semi-fancy event in Los Angeles, crop tops and cutout attire was popular this year.  But we were able to find some "Top Buttons approved"  attire for both CLASS and STYLE among the many celebs who appeared.

Alexa Vega, best known from her role as Carmen in Spy Kids, appeared at the awards show with her husband Carlos Pena in a full-length black and white romper.

Audrey Whitby chose to wear a coral colored mid-length BCBG dress looking vibrant and beautiful. Audrey is know for starring in the television show Austin and Ally and So Random on Disney Channel. We think this dress was a perfect pick for Audrey.

Kristen Bell wore a Camilla and Marc cheetah-like dress where she was able to accept her award for Favorite Animated Movie where her role was Ana in the hit movie Frozen. Not only did she receive an award at the event but she also was one of the presenter along with Chris Evans. Her dress complimented her spunky personality on stage!

Overall, these three ladies looked absolutely fabulous for this fun, exciting event.

Our Best Picks from the Golden Globes

This year's 71st Annual Golden Globes Awards was a night to remember when it came to select celebrities dresses. Top Buttons was very excited to see what these stars were going to wear down the red carpet this time. Our team selected three of the most beautiful dresses that were worn at the event.

Our top favorite was a shimmering ombre Gucci dress worn by actress Mila Kunis. We can tell that she knows how to dress to impress at an event as important as this. This floor length dress attracted all eyes to Mila as she arrived at the awards.

Another one of our favorite dresses by designer Christian Dior was worn by well-known actress Jennifer Lawrence. Lawrence was presented a Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actress in the famous motion picture "American Hustle". We loved how she graced the stage in her white gown looking flawless as she accepted her award.

Last but not least, Taissa Farmiga made her red carpet appearance in a knee length, lace Elie Saab dress. She accompanied her dress with Stuart Weitzman sandals giving it a more casual yet classy look for the awards. She was one of very few who decided to be different by wearing a short dress for the event.

Our Top Favorite Dresses from the People's Choice Awards

This year's 40th Annual People's Choice Awards was filled with incredibly fashionable celebrities showing off their one of a kind dresses. We all know this event only happens once a year, making these celebrities wardrobe a top priority. Ladies walked down the red carpet in top notch attire for a night of entertainment and awards.

Actress and model Nina Dobrev sported a slim-fitting black Jenny Packham dress. We love the crystal accents down the right side of the dress making a statement as she walked down the red carpet. She knows how to look great without feeling the need to show too much skin!

Well-known singer Jennifer Hudson modeled a simple pure white Kaufmanfranco dress that defined classy and sophisticated.

Kaley Cuoco, from the hit television show 8 Simple Rules, wore a Sachin + Babi Olearia dress resembling a high wasted skirt with a touch of creativity.

Singer and actress Julianne Hough wore a Tony Ward dress that LIT up the night. This knee length dress sparkled silver and blue, fitting her perfectly. These dresses were nothing but talked about as these women walked down the red carpet in style!
