Top Buttons + Publix Serves Week: A Day of Style and Support
/This past Saturday, our team had the joy of hosting a Wearing Confidence Boutique Session for young women from Anchor House. Made possible through the incredible generosity of Publix Serves Week, the day was nothing short of transformative—for both our guests and our volunteers.
Two-way Impact
Our Publix volunteers went above and beyond, turning a simple event into a life-giving experience. In addition to assembling hygiene bags, serving food, and helping move inventory, they stepped into the role of personal stylists. With patience and care, they guided each young woman through the boutique, helping them choose outfits that fit not only their needs but also their personalities and goals. They contributed their talents in hair and makeup, creating a full confidence-boosting experience.
These small but meaningful touches helped ensure that each participant left feeling seen, valued, and celebrated. Plus, they had fun! During the session, a few made comments about how much they were enjoying the experience. We did too!
Equipping for the Future
Seven young women participated in this special day. Each received:
$75 in clothing resources
A brand-new “I Am Not an Object” T-shirt
Vouchers to return for more free clothing in the future
A professional photo shoot to use for résumés, job applications, and social media
The day concluded with a shared lunch, where new friendships formed, encouragement flowed, and smiles came easily.
Looking Ahead
We also invited the girls to our upcoming educational event on October 4, where they’ll continue to receive practical tools and heartfelt encouragement for the next chapters of their lives. More than anything, we want each of them to know this: they are not alone, they are deeply loved by their Creator, and their lives carry incredible purpose and calling.
A Moment of Gratitude
We are deeply grateful to Publix and its volunteers for their servant hearts, and to our gracious customers who showed patience with packed dressing rooms and supported this beautiful session. It was a joy to watch the girls warm up and get excited about the experience. Days like these remind us why we do what we do.
Together, we are building more than wardrobes; we are building confidence, dignity, and hope.
